ELEGANCE IN HARLEM

What an amazing experience! I have been coming to NYC for over 40 years and this is absolutely the best place I have ever stayed. We had three families staying here and it was plenty of room. We cooked Thanksgiving dinner for 21 people and had everything we needed including two refrigerators. Joyce was kind enough to make sure we had enough chairs, plates, etc for our friends and family. The pictures are just as they appear, fabulous living room, gorgeous huge dining room with fire place. There is also an elevator which was great for my husband who has a leg injury and carrying the bags. The kids loved the pool table and all the space to roam around. The neighborhood was fabulous. We loved eating at Sylvia and Red Rooster. The kids loved Harlem Shake. Two groceries are very close and Harlem Wine delivers! We will definitely come back for many years to come. Thank you Joyce!

spacious, comfortable, clean, well-supplied

Joyce's house provided everything we needed during the week we stayed. A subway station, Whole Foods market, restaurants, and a drugstore were all one or two blocks away, making this a very convenient site. Joyce was friendly and responsive and we wouldn't hesitate to return for another visit. The front steps may be a bit too steep for some people. We didn't need to use it, but we understand that there is also a more-accessible back entrance.

We'll be back!

What a wonderful place to have a family gathering! We were five couples and we each had our own bedroom and bathroom; plenty of private space. The dining room is a dream place to gather around the spectacular table. The elevator makes moving in with luggage easy. (However, the elevator is accessed through the rear bedrooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors, so we recommend that the more able-bodied take the front bedrooms and use the stairs.) I could go on and on about the beautiful details in the house. The house itself is just gorgeous. The art throughout is delightful. The beds are great. The master bathroom amazing. My joke is you could swim laps in the tub. The location is terrific: steps away from a bus, a 5 minute walk to the subway. The street is so quiet, yet just down the block from the bustling Harlem heart of 125th Street. Whole Foods, world-class restaurants, museums.... The hostess is friendly, easy to contact and very helpful. We'll be back!

Wonderful Rental Feb 6, 2018

Our family had a wonderful rendezvous in New York City staying at Joyce's beautiful Harlem mansion. The house is clean, well appointed, and comfortable --- not to mention beautiful. Joyce and her staff are professional, warm, and welcoming. They provided everything we needed for our time in the city. The house is located in close proximity to a subway stop, Whole Foods, and excellent restaurants. 5 stars!

Five ladies stayed in the house to celebrate my recent birthday. It is everything it says on the web site and more. The location is excellent for getting downtown, Central Park, in fact anywhere as it is located only five minutes walk from a sub way. Locally the area is really buzzing, with the famous Sylvia's and Red Rooster restaurants just nearby. With a large Wholefoods store just about to open it will just complete the area for convenience. However the house itself is in a really nice street with a park at the end. Joyce provides for everything in the house and you can't help but enjoy yourself. It's a perfect place to come back to at the end of a long days sight seeing or shopping. I will be back again for sure.

Great for large groups!!

I spent a 4-day weekend at this property with 9 other ladies. It was perfect and met the description on VRBO. We each doubled up and shared rooms and had our own bathroom! I can't begin to tell you how great that was.... The property manager's assistant, Stephanie, greeted us upon arrival. She was so friendly and helpful; very knowledgeable about the property and neighborhood. The house was clean and well maintained. The first night we were all pretty tired from travelling so we bbq'd steaks on the gas grill in the courtyard. There's a local market around the corner, very convenient, with fresh flowers and vegetables. There's a convenient liquor store as well for what ales ya... What we couldn't find locally we ordered through Instacart and they delivered. There's very easy access to the subway or bus to get into the city. Locally we enjoyed dinner and live music at Red Rooster and the breakfast brunch at Sylvia's. Just a beautiful trip and a great place to stay! We'd do it again and hope to soon. Thanks!

My daughter and I stayed here this past week. It was actually the second time we've rented this property. I would highly recommend this property! The first time we stayed here we had a large group - 10 people in all, and it accommodated us all quite easily. This last visit was just my daughter and I. Joyce was kind enough to allow just the two of us to stay, although the house is really designed for larger groups. We love the neighborhood, completely safe and friendly. The house is beautiful and very comfortable. It's a short, easy walk to the subway and then 15 minutes to Times Square. There are a number of restaurants locally that are an easy walk and very good! If you have a larger number of people, we highly recommend this property!

Great times

Okay, this was the BEST place to stay in NYC!! We had 9 of us in the family and wanted an elegant place to stay where we all could just hang out but be treated special. This place ticked every box. It was a truly authentic brownstone (read "Sex in the City" meets "Sesame Street") and was beautifully restored. The owner provided extra special attention and responded to all emails and questions promptly. The place was well appointed and there was even left over laundry detergent, coffee, and other goodies. There even was an elevator and spa bathroom! It truly felt like you were in a beautiful home. The place is about 1.5 blocks from the subway and we felt totally safe walking around at all hours. We'll totally stay here again. Harlem Rocks and this place was FABULOUS!!!
